Paul Simon Cover Story And Interview In Uncut Magazine

Paul Simon is featured on the cover of the April 2011 edition of Uncut magazine. In a wide-ranging interview, Paul discusses his career and new album, “So Beautiful or So What,” available April 12th. “Without having intended it to be, the album became something of a recapitulation of the whole trip that I’ve been on, my whole career,” he told the magazine.

“Part of what I like about the process is that I don’t know where it’s going. I get pleasure from the discovery … I keep notes in a book, phrases. Like the title of the album, it was on the first page of my notes. “Everything is so beautiful or so what.” But that was the last song I wrote. So I didn’t come around to picking up that phrase and using it until the end and then I thought that was a pretty good question to put on top of this pile of songs.”
