Paul Simon To Pay Tribute To Willie Nelson At Gershwin Prize Concert
Paul Simon and Neil Young are part of the lineup of performers who will pay tribute to Willie Nelson when the Library of Congress honors the country legend with its Gershwin Prize for Popular Song on Wednesday, November 18, at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. The show will air nationwide on PBS on Friday, January 15, at 9 p.m. ET.
Other artists on the bill include Rosanne Cash, Alison Krauss, The Mavericks‘ Raul Malo, Simon’s wife, Edie Brickell, and Promise of the Real, a group led by Nelson’s son Lukas. Simon was the first person presented with the Gershwin Prize, back in 2007.
