Paul Simon, Wynton Marsalis To Perform At Jazz at Lincoln Center
Paul Simon and Wynton Marsalis will give three concerts together in April, performing Mr. Simon’s songs in a rare collaboration between one of the leading pop song writers of the last 50 years and the virtuoso jazz trumpet player, Jazz at Lincoln Center announced today.
The first will be at a gala on April 18 to honor Lisa Schiff for her leadership as chairwoman of the Jazz at Lincoln Center board. Two more concerts will be given for the general public on April 19 and 20. Entitled “The Paul Simon Songbook,” the performances will cover songs from Mr. Simon’s entire career, arranged by Mr. Marsalis and other members of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. Mr. Simon will bring his own sidemen, and Aaron Neville will join the ensemble on some songs.
